Very disappointing experienceI arranged a viewing and test drive for a Skoda Fabia a week in advance. At first they confirmed it was fine, but when I called again to reconfirm, they suddenly said they had to finish work early.I accepted that and rearranged for the following week. I messaged them — no reply for days. I sent another message, then they finally said it was available.On the morning of the appointment, I called again to confirm. They told me to call back at 2pm. When I did, they simply said: “Sorry, sold.”I had already taken time off work and arranged for a friend to come with me.This is not acceptable service. No communication, no professionalism, and no respect for customers’ time.

Probably the best experience I’ve had looking for a used car. No hard sell. I was given time to look around and take a test drive and their mechanic was on hand to answer any questions about the vehicles of which there was a good range of makes and prices. Really pleasant experience buying a car from CheckedCars, no pushy sales tactics and let me look at cars in my own time which was much appreciated. The purchase was important to me as I’m going to be a dad so needed something reliable, safe and practical. Mark went out of his way to make sure I was able to buy car despite the internet being turned off in the area. Made what could have been a stressful day easy. I found Mark to be exceptionally good to deal with, and very pleasant to meet. I had reason to search for a Skoda Yeti last autumn. Eventually I found a car on Checked Cars, spoke to Mark and flew down to Birmingham from Scotland. He did not demand a deposit. Mark himself came and met me at the airport! I inspected the car and drove it home. We are still very pleased with car. I have been a motoring enthusiast for a good many decades, and also have had some peripheral experience of the Motor Trade. I note a few negative reviews on here which have prompted me to respond by way of balance. Car selling is not easy. Even when new, you can only offer a product that others have made, whether it's perfectly designed or not. Customers can be reasonable, difficult or sadly even downright dishonest. A trader such as this, trying to decently provide a service and make an honest living is not fair game, he should be applauded. Dealing in used cars can be exceptionally difficult. Good stock has to constantly be sourced and purchased at a price which allows for preparation and the making good of any defects commensurate with the age and make of the vehicle. It then has to be marketed and sold at a price which gives some return on the investment. All this whilst navigating the legalities of a volatile, competitive market. Therefore, I repeat my opening offering that I have found Mark to be refreshingly good to deal with. Buyer beware of course - but I would suggest Checked Cars is a particularly good place to look.
